ANNUAL REPORT 2019-20

I feel honoured to extend a warm welcome to our distinguished chief guest, Respected management members, parents, dedicated teachers and my dear students. I take great pleasure in welcoming you all on this special occasion of our annual day “VAISHISHTYA-2019-20”.
S.V.E.I under the shelter of Shri Annapoorneshwari trust was started in the year 1998 and public school wing started functioning in 2008. Our school currently has a strength of 1130 students , 66 academic staff and 35 ancillary staff. The annual report showcases the achievements and glories of our school.
Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution. Our 2018-19 batch X Standard students have brought laurels to our school by their excellent results. Last year 79 students appeared for the All India Secondary School Exam. The key highlights are 100% pass result. Kumari Keerthana M.Relekar is the topper with an impressive score of 96.4%.16 students secured above 90%, 23 students scored above 80%.Our ninth batch of X standard students 88 of them will be appearing for their board exam 2020.
‘Teachers are also learners’ staying updated is the key to success in all field especially in education. Our teachers constantly strive to stay updated by attending workshops and various training programs. 15 teachers attended the inservice programmes conducted by CBSE-COE from time to time as per directions of the board.
To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the students various co-curricular activities such as drawing, hand writing, creative writing, storytelling, elocution, memory test, pick and speak, essay writing etc. were conducted.
More than 600 students participated in science, Maths & English Olympiads conducted by SOF. It infuses a healthy competitive spirit through reward based assessment. 471 students participated in national level art competition conducted by Rangotsav. 300 students participated in spell bee competition conducted by Apex National spell bee. 110 students actively participated in the heritage fest conducted by Iskcon and displayed their calibre.
Various interesting activities are conducted under different clubs such as science, music, nature and yoga to develop a child physically, morally, socially and mentally.
In addition to this our school has always been taking initiatives to get the best talent. 200 students are undergoing karate training under the guidance of Sensui Chidananda. They have also brought laurels to our school by winning many national level competitions. Abacus classes are conducted by zealous rock academy for classes 3-7. Regular Sanskrit, yoga, art, music and dance classes are also a very integral part of S.V.E.I
Field trips give students a chance to learn about the new environment at their own pace. III-X standard students went on a trip to GRS fantasy park in the month of September. A four days study tour to Goa was organised by the school for x students in the month of October.
Our school office bearers were officially sworn in a very impressive investiture ceremony. The school cabinet was lead by our head boy Y. Tejas and head girl G.M.Nithyashree.
Our school celebrates some of the important days with great enthusiasm. To name a few…world environment day, earth day, world yoga day, independence day, teachers day, ganesha chathurthi, annual sports day, childrens day, funfair, republic day, Janmashtami, Kannadarajyothsava, mini marathon, sharing and feasting day, surakshabandhan, grand parents day, colours day etc.
Some of the new introductions by CBSE are-
1.Hubs of learning- which is a cluster of 8 schools which will share the best practices and resources as an enabling instrument. Hub meetings are conducted every month in a member school and many competitions are arranged by the member schools. In our hub St. Joseph central school is the lead collaborator, Zee Mount Litera, MPS, DPS, DAV, St.Rosello, Kautilya vidhyalaya are all member schools.
2.Introduction of two levels of examination in mathematics for class x. The nomenclature for the two examinations will be math- standard for the existing level of exam and math-basics for the easier level.
3.Rashtriya Ekta diwas was celebrated on 31stoctober on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
4. As part of the birth anniversary of father of our nation Swachatha campaign and voluntary Khadi-wearing day was observed.
5.Constitution day was observed on the occasion of 128th birth anniversary of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, father of the Indian constitution.
6.On 29th August the Honorable Prime minister of India launched nation-wide Fit India Movement aiming to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine. We have been certified as “FIT INDIA SCHOOL”.
Every year our school holds the annual prize distribution ceremony to honour the students who have made the school proud with brilliant efforts in the field of academics, co-curricular and sports. *This year Kum. KhushiG.R (L.K.G), Kum. Sapna.N (IV B) and Chi. Vishaal.S (X B) are the gold medalists.
*Chi. Sujan.S (IV C) and Chi.Mayura Krishna (VIII C) are the best boys. Kum.Vrindapadiyar (IV B) and Kum.Avni D Kowdley (VII A) are the best girls.
*Kum.Sanvi C.V (VI D), Chi.Bharath H.S (VIIC), Kum.Ananya G.Nayak and Chi.Jeevan.M (X B) are the sports champions.
